We all have a lot of to cope with these days and these simple and easy to implement strategies are foundational to good health in “interesting” times. Dr. Merrell offers practical ways to restore and maintain energy– this book is invaluable.

the first days I’ve had this book I was in ecstasy: the author was citing researches which demostrate many of my beliefs regarding spirituality, meditation, yoga, praying.
I bought 3 more copies as xmas gifts for my friends who are more “spiritual”.
then a friend of mine invited me to double check the validity of the researches mentioned (I’m a business analyst in the end, why didn’t I think of it before?). I’ve checked the most astonishing one, supposed to prove that if someone prays for you you heal faster.
I found an article on wired which gave me the numbers, the research was based on 40 AIDS patients (4 of which had died and fortunately they were all in the control group!).
so I understood that I was enthusiast because I really wanted to believe it’s scientifically true, I needed this support, but this book unfortunately is too weak to give me this support. I’ll keep looking aroud though.
I still have to thank the author for a precious tool it gave me: now I have a compass: when I feel tired, an alarm now rings in my head, I review what I’ve eaten, how many days without sports, without meditation, without praying, without seeing my dearest friends, which source of stress is absorbing my energy: as I work in finance, now I can approach the issue in mathematical terms, or accounting terms: where is my energy, who is spending it? or call “work!! stop spending my energy now!”

Not only does this book give you a strategy based on many years of innovative medical experience and insight, it’s actually a very well written book and a pleasure to read.

I found the information in this book very helpful. I also appreciate that it’s vegetarian friendly. Being a vegetarian for over 27 years and enjoying reading health books, I’ve found that the two don’t always go together. Too many main stream health books encourage eating meat which to me goes against the philosophy of health. . . physical and spiritual.

Highly recommend it. It’s a great book using plain English on how to look after ourselves both mentally and physically. Everyone should have a copy.
